Eagle Type 1 Safety Cans are constructed of 24-gauge hot dipped galvanized steel. Eagle safety cans are accepted under CARB, meet OSHA and NFPA Code 30 requirements, and are UL, ULC and FM Approved for safe handling and storage of gasoline and other flammable liquids. Available in a variety of colors for the safe handling and storage of flammables (red), kerosene (blue), diesel (yellow) and combustible liquids such as oils (green). Available with or without a funnel.

  1. How do you know when the tank of the gas can is full when filling it?

    1. When filling a safety gas can at the station, the pump will automatically shut off—just as it does when refueling a vehicle.

  2. The yellow plastic (possible other material) handle has become brittle and has broken. The gas can is still in good shape, but I am unable to find a replacement handle.

    1. The flame arrestor on Eagle Safety Cans is able to be removed with needle nose pliers. Please note that the flame arrestor is there to suffocate any spark or flame that may enter the can, and removing it will eliminate one of the safety features of the can. It is not recommended to be used without it in the can.

  4. Where can I get an Eagle 2 1/2 gallon galvanized gas can pour spout? My can is older model.

    1. I apologize, we do not offer any replacement parts to our discontinued safety cans. We would not suggest altering the can with a non-Eagle part. This would deem the product outside of compliance.
