Product Summary

Space Saver Flammable Liquid Safety Cabinet is constructed of 18-gauge (1 mm) steel. The sides, top, bottom, and doors are double-walled with a 1-1/2in. (3.8 cm) air space between walls. Includes two vents, each have 2in. (5.1 cm) threaded fittings and a fire baffle and cap. Cabinets have a high gloss powder coat finish with red trilingual warning, plus grounding attachment, 3-point latch system, and 2in. (5.1 cm) raised, leakproof door sill. Each shelf is adjustable on 3in. (7.6 cm) centers, supported by 4 brackets, with a 350 lbs (159 kg) safe allowable load. Cabinets are FM-Approved and meet NFPA Code 30 and OSHA requirements.

The W1877 has a spiral cutterhead, while the G0940 uses a helical cutterhead. While all helical cutterheads are technically spiral, the inserts in a helical cutterhead are positioned at an angle to follow the spiral's curve. This angled cutting action provides a superior shearing effect compared to spiral cutterheads, where the inserts are set square to the surface, similar to small straight blades.

Per NFPA® 30 Section 9.5.4, venting of storage cabinets is not recommended unless the authority having jurisdiction requires it or if building owners require it for increased health and safety. In such cases, NFPA 30 recommends a thermally actuated damper as the best way to ensure the performance of a ventilated safety cabinet during a fire.
