This StrongArm® 120 Volt, 4000-lb. capacity electric winch is designed for indoor use and for fixed applications with access to AC power. The winch is ideal for use with shop cranes, boat lifts, boat davits, marine railway systems, greenhouse ventilation systems and more. Use it to easily pull disabled vehicles up onto frame-straightening machines, raise light towers, pull small aircraft in and out of aircraft hangars, open and close large horizontal sliding doors, activate dumb waiters or perform a variety of other general material handling applications. Includes dual switch remote control with dynamic brake for easy operation.

    1. The Dutton-Lainson StrongArm SA12015AC comes standard with a 50 ft galvanized aircraft steel cable (wire rope), not synthetic rope.

    1. There is not a ball hitch mounting plate currently available for this winch.

  3. does it come with an emergency handle in case of power outage? what is that lever on the side of the unit? Is it the in/out switch without the use of remote control?

    1. An emergency crank handle is provided for use in the event of a power failure. Remove the electrical power from the winch when using. The clutch lever provides a means for releasing a load without power while maintaining control of the speed and provides free wheeling so that the cable can be removed from the winch by hand.

  4. Does this have a hook on the back attach to a chain or a tree sling?

    I need a winch that I can attach to a tree (temporarily, not permanently) to pull a dock out of the water. Will this winch work for that purpose? Or is it only usable if you mount it to a a solid surface?

    1. This Dutton-Lainson winch does not include a hook, it has mounting holes. This winch is designed to be mounted on a solid surface. For that reason, we cannot recommend mounting it to a tree for your application.

  6. I'd like to pair my strongarm with a generator. What minimum wattage is required of the generator?

    1. This Dutton-Lainson winch requires 720 watts to operate. To start an electric motor requires 3 times more power than to operate. The minimum size generator would be 2160 watts.

  7. can you connect 2 of the Duton-Lainson model 25046 so both winches pulling same time

    1. Two winches cannot be used together because they would not always be in perfect sync with each other. You can double your pulling capacity by doubling the line.

    1. You would need to contact the manufacture directly to special order a longer remote cord for this winch.

  9. How to mount unit

    How can the unit be fastened to a wall for permanent installation in a vertical position (for pulling up a ham radio tower) using the snatch block? It does not show a permanent flange where the bolts would fasten to the wall.

    1. This winch is only meant to be used in a horizontal pulling application. It is not meant to be used for lifting of any type. I would suggest a hoist for your application and I will list an option below.
