  1. Can the bottom of the tailgate be opened an inch at a time to spread various sizes of gravel while moving?

    1. The tailgate can either be lowered all the way or taken off completely using the quick release hinge pins.

    1. The dump insert is not sealed and would not retain liquids. It would not be recommended for this application.

  3. Will this dump body fit into a step side pickup?

    1. This is not suitable for use on a step side truck.

  4. How does this dump? Is there hydraulics included?

    1. The hydraulics are included with the kit. This dumps with the push of a button that is connected to the the motor that activates the hydraulics.

  5. Can I mount to frame without the truck bec?

    1. This kit does include two U-bolts and brackets that can be used to fasten the unit directly to the frame of the vehicle. The two brackets can be bolted anywhere along the bottom frame of the dump body. One hole for each bracket would need to be drilled. The U-bolt would then fit through the two holes in the bracket and the frame must also be drilled to accept the U-bolt.

    1. This dump insert does not have enough clearance to fit into a service body.

  7. Does it stay on truck permanently or can it be used only when needed

    1. The dump insert does require drilling and mounting to the vehicle. It would be designed to be mounted permanently. It would not be easily removable.
