    I cant find this answer anywhere in the documentation , I am getting ready to buy my motor and would like to know this

    1. This pump is designed to be directly drive from a motor or engine PTO shaft. Therefore it is a clockwise rotation pump when viewed from the shaft end.

  4. what is the perpose of the 2 stage how is it better or diff than single

    1. A two-stage pump is used to rapidly cycle a cylinder until it encounters the load, at which time the pump's output changes from high flow, low pressure to low-flow, high pressure, an effect not unlike shifting to a lower gear when climbing a steep hill in an automobile.

      If a device such as a log splitter were designed with a single stage pump and expected to rapidly cycle the cylinder, the prime mover (engine or electric motor) would have has to be sized to the maximum pressure and flow capabilities of a high volume pump, which would result in having to use an unreasonably large engine or motor, driving up the cost and size of the unit.

      The two-stage pump allows a lower powered engine or motor to generate high pressure when required but still be able to achieve a more rapid cycle time.

    2. The two stage has two pairs of gears which in the 1st stage will provide high volume at low pressure and the 2nd stage will provide low volume at high pressure. This type requires a smaller motor to operate.

  6. what type fluid

    1. It would be recommended to use conventional anti-wear hydraulic oil with the proper viscosity. The most common used are ISO 32, ISO 46 or ISO 68 since they are able to lubricate and protect the system under the normal range of operating temperatures.

  7. What is the best way to attach the intake hydraulic line to the nipple?  my old pump had a screw in port for a hard connection.  The intake line fits over the nipple and as long as the engine/pump is running it does not leak.  Regular hose clamps are used

    1. The fitting would need to be either threaded into the hose or connected per crimping the connection onto the hose.

  8. Can the 1 1/4" inlet hose barb be removed to use a different fitting?

    1. The tube is not threaded so a different fitting will not work.
