Product Summary

This Concentric high pressure hydraulic gear pump provides superior versatility. Use it on mobile equipment, construction and agricultural equipment, machine tools, material handling and mining equipment, PTO pumps, refuse haulers, compaction and baling equipment. Standard 4-bolt mount. 1.78in. diameter pilot with 1/2in. x 1 1/2in. shaft, 1/8in. square key. Heavy duty cast iron pump turns at 4,000 RPM max. in CW or CCW direction. Use as a fluid pump or fluid motor. Similar to Parker D Series, Webster YB Series, Rexroth S12, MTED Series. Flexible coupling or belt (pulley) drive. 90% efficient.

  1. Minimum electric motor hp to run this pump

    1. The power required to operate the pump/motor is predicated on the maximum flow rate and the pressure at which the flow occurs. The formula is:
      {pressure (psi) x flow (gallons per minute)} / 1714 = HP

      At a maximum flow of 4 gallons per minute and a pressure of 1000 psi, 2.5 hp is needed to operated the pump.

    2. The minimum electric motor HP needed will depend on the PSI and RPM you will be operating at.To determine the HP required use the following formula:
      Flow Rate (GPM) x System Pressure (PSI)/1714 x % Pump Efficiency=HP Required.

  2. I have some technical questions: Can this pump be used with water-glycol fluids?, can this pump be operated at lower rpm to reduce flow (still at 3000 psi pressure). Is it designed to work for longer periods of time (longer duty cycle > 30 minutes).

    1. The gear pump can be used with water-glycol fluids and can be operated at a lower RPM. The maximum it can operate at is 4000 RPM. It is designed for continuous operation, as long as it runs within its specified maximum pressure and temperature ratings.

    1. The diameter of the shaft is 1/2". The length of the shaft is 1.5".

  4. What are the rpms of this gear motor

    1. At a flow of 2.0 GPM, it would have a flow of 1800 RPM. At a flow of 4.0 GPM it would have a flow of 3600 RPM.

  8. How can I tell which port is suction and which is pressure? Pump is set up to rotate clockwise looking at the input shaft. Thanks

    1. The pump is bi-directional and can be used as hydraulic pump or as a hydraulic motor. If using as a pump, looking at the shaft end the left port is the suction and the right port is the high pressure outlet. It would be set up with clockwise rotation.

      If used as a hydraulic motor, looking at the shaft end, the pressure line installed on the right port would make the shaft turn counter clockwise and if the line is installed on the left port the shaft will turn clockwise.

    Is there a 12v. motor which I could use to power this pump with?

    1. This pump would need to be coupled with either a gas engine or a hydraulic motor. There is no 12 volt motor it would work with.
