Is a case drain required?
The drawing shows a port on the bottom for case drain. Does this exist on this model? If so, does it have to be connected to low pressure line? Or can it be plugged?
1 answer-
ProductExpert19· 13 years ago
This does have a case drain with a steel plug installed. It depends on the application if its to be used or not. If it's used as a pump and has low back pressure the drain is not needed. If it's used a fluid motor and has higher back pressure then you would want to use the drain.

How slow can it turn and still handle rated pressure?
1 answer-
ProductExpert6· 13 years ago
If you are going to run the pump at a normal 1000-2000 PSI then the minimum RPM would be 600. If you are going to use it in a lube application at around 200 PSI then you can run it at whatever RPM necessary.

What port is the suction port in clockwise rotation?
Clockwise input shaft rotation as viewed looking at the shaft end of the pump.
1 answer-
ProductExpert6· 13 years ago
With manufacturer tag facing up, and looking at the pump from shaft end you would install the high pressure line on the right port to make the shaft turn counter clockwise. You would install the high pressure line on the left port to make the shaft turn clockwise.

What is the HP requirements for 1800 rpm and 3600 rpm?
1 answer-
ProductExpert29· 13 years ago
A formula to get approximate horsepower needed is as follows:
HP needed = GPM x system pressure(PSI) / 1714 x % pump efficiency.
This pump is 95% efficient. At 1800 RPM, the pump moves .5 GPM, and will be 1.0 GPM at 3600. Depending on pressure desired, you will have to do the math to determine horsepower needed.
