VersaMat® was developed to be a more multi-functional ground protection mat for use where a user is looking for the additional requirement of a walking or standing/working surface. VersaMat® features a low profile slip-resistant traction surface making it ideal for pedestrian applications. Featuring a high load bearing capacity of 95 tons*, VersaMat® can also be used as a vehicle track way, vehicle parking area, or staging area for supplies and equipment. Weighing just 39kg at its maximum size, VersaMat® can be easily handled by a two-person team. VersaMat® is manufactured from 100% recycled High Density Polyethylene, making it durable and resistant to all weather conditions. VersaMat® has a flexible construction meaning that the mat will follow the contours of the ground delivering a highly effective access solution on sloping or undulating ground conditions. VersaMat® can be connected together using Turn-A-Links or EZ Link connectors ensuring you have a firm and secure track way.

  1. What is the weight of each of the VersaMat sheets?

    1. The VM38 mats weigh 64.5 LBS each. The VM38 mats are the mats in this Matpak, model VMCP3.

  2. We are looking for a product that will handle a 737 on soft ground. The footprint for the plane is quite small however does not exceed the max weight capacity of the mats. Will these work?

    1. The maximum weight capacity is 120 tons. It will work for this application as long as you do not exceed the maximum weight capacity.

  3. Is each individual mat rated for the max capacity or is the listed capacity the cumulative load bearing capacity of all the mats? Have a 60,000# machine with grouser bars welded to the tracks for added traction - can the mats take that type of load?

  4. Are they stiff enough to use with a 16,000 pound machine over very muddy areas to reduce sinking or are they mostly just for protecting firm yards and other surfaces?

    1. The mats are a buoyant temporary access to all weather conditions especially wetlands, marshlands, peat bogs and river deltas.
