VersaMat® was developed to be a more multi-functional ground protection mat for use where a user is looking for the additional requirement of a walking or standing/working surface. VersaMat® features a low profile slip-resistant traction surface making it ideal for pedestrian applications. Featuring a high load bearing capacity of 95 tons*, VersaMat® can also be used as a vehicle track way, vehicle parking area, or staging area for supplies and equipment. Weighing just 39kg at its maximum size, VersaMat® can be easily handled by a two-person team. VersaMat® is manufactured from 100% recycled High Density Polyethylene, making it durable and resistant to all weather conditions. VersaMat® has a flexible construction meaning that the mat will follow the contours of the ground delivering a highly effective access solution on sloping or undulating ground conditions. VersaMat® can be connected together using Turn-A-Links or EZ Link connectors ensuring you have a firm and secure track way.

    1. It is not recommended to cut the mat to size. Modifications to the mat will void the manufacturer's warranty.

  3. Will this product work in the marsh?  Looking for a product to give a path to water through marsh for kayak launch.  Water tide lowers and raises throughout day so at times parts of mat would be in water.  Will it stay in place?  Thanks

    1. It sounds as if this is question is for pedestrian traffic carrying kayaks. In our opinion, the VersaMAT Ground Protection Mat with Walking Tread, model VM28, is an excellent choice for this application. The aggressive tread on the bottom will provide good traction that will help keep the mat from moving around too much, while the less aggressive tread on the top will provide an excellent walking path.

      Regarding the changing of the tide, model VM28 is neutrally buoyant, which means it will not float, but it also won’t easily sink. It could be moved by current. Therefore, we recommend linking multiple VersaMATS together utilizing our U-Stake Ground Protection Mat Anchors, model U STAKES, to secure the mats to the ground.
