Product Summary

AlturnaMat® is a high load capacity mat boasting an aggressive diamond plate tread design and a high load capacity ideal for use over soft or sensitive ground conditions in the construction, civil engineering, ground work, and events industries. These rugged mats are made of 1.27cm thick polyethylene making them virtually indestructible. AlturnaMat® can withstand loads of up to 120 tons*, and its flexible construction means that these mats will follow the contours of the ground to deliver a highly effective access solution over undulating or sloping ground conditions. Weighing just 39 kg at its maximum size and just 9.75 kg at its smallest, AlturnaMat® can be easily deployed and maneouvered by a two-person team with the added convenience of strategically positioned hand holes. AlturnaMat® can be connected together using Turn-A-Links or EZ Link connectors to create a secure trackway or workpad.

  1. How do the mat connectors perform on hard surfaces? I have historic tile floors that must be protected and want to confirm whether the connectors create point loads that could damage the tile. Also, will the mats mark or mar the floor?

    1. Per our Engineering Team, the mat connectors will scratch a hard tile floor and are not recommended for that application.

  2. Does this mat bend or move when being driven over? Looking for a mat I can put over a grate for forklift traffic and don't wont it to bend or damage the grate below.

      The generic Coefficient of friction for HDPE is 0.020 -.350

      • Is the material fire resistant?

      Being made of HDPE, they are not fire resistant

      • Is the loading indicated in the specs static or point load?

      Static load. However, it is important to the customer to understand several factors that could drastically impact the load capacity of our mats. I have attached our Weight Rating Factors document which should help to clarify.

      • If possible, how do clients usually handle drainage for their site

      Our ground protection mats aren’t designed for drainage but are designed for turf protection and temporary access.
