  1. Is it capable of spreading fine materials like lime/sulfur for soil conditioning?

    1. I would think it would work fine functionally for spreading small, granular products like that. It's very precise when applying salt and sand. There's just no means to measure your rate of application if you're doing fertilizer or soil ammendments. You adjust the chute to be more or less open, but there's no gauge or numbered settings on the spreader. You'd just have to eyeball it as you spread to make a rough estimate of how much you're applying.

    2. Yes, the spreader does feature a lever to adjust the flow. Make sure there are no large objects within the material. Objects larger than the openings in the screen may cause the spreader to clog or even damage the drive system. Never leave material in the hopper when not in use. Walking slower or faster will also alter the distribution pattern and amount of material, as will the moisture content of the material and other environmental factors.

    1. This spreader features a poly hopper. The main frame, discharge, auger, shaft assembly, agitator and the trough are stainless steel.

  5. 1) what is pneumatic wheel diameter of the salt dogg walk behind drop spreader, model# WB400?

    2) is this drop spreader, Model# WB400, recommended for applying grass fertilizers and lime?

    1. The wheels for this drop spreader are 11-1/2" by 4" with a 5/8" diameter bore. While it can be used with fertilizers, the manufacturer does not recommend using it with lime.
