  1. does it keep water out?

    1. I have had this same box since 2002 and have never had a problem with water getting inside. Sometime moisture would pop up but not very often.

    The way I'll mount this box on my dump trailer, it will be stepped on. Can the lid take that without bending?

    1. I would not recommend stepping on the lid.

    I have a hydraulic unit and 12 volt battery that need to go inside for my dump trailer and i'm wanting to know if it would support the weight

    1. The manufacturer does not give a weight rating on this tool box. As long as the box is mounted properly, there should be no issue with weight capacity on the tool box.

  6. What are the interior dimensions?

    1. The front inside width is 16 1/4" and the back inside width is 33". The front to back inside dimension is 15" and the inside depth is 16".

  7. What are the interior dimentions? Will a reg. size propane tank fit with the lid shut?

    1. The inside height is 15 7/8" tall. A 20 pound propane tank is 17 7/8" tall. A regular size propane tank will not fit in this box.

  8. can box be flush mounted to stone shield and still open?

    can box be flush mounted to stone shield and open all the way to 90 degrees? I have an aluma trailer which has a raised center rail and I would like to mount this directly to the stone guard on my trailer

    1. The total open height for this tool box at a 90 degree angle is 37 inches.

  9. What are the suggested mounting instruction?

    I do not want to buy something that I have to drill holes through the bottom to mount, this would no longer be water proof then.

    1. The mounting for this Trailer tongue tool box would be to drill holes through the bottom and bolt to the A frame hitch of the trailer. You could use a silicone caulk at the bolt holes to keep it water proof.
