    1. It is designed to slide into the rear of the tarp on a trailer to keep it secure and not blow in the wind while driving.

    2. This kit attaches to the end of the tarp in the dump truck tarp roller kits, and makes it easier to roll and unroll the tarp, and helps to secure the tarp to keep it from flapping or sailing in the wind.

  2. do I need two of item 331873 for new install

    for front and rear or just one.

    1. I would suggest that the front of the tarp be fastened down. The easiest way to do this is with a tarp roller, that way the tarp can be easily stored when not in use. You do not need a rear bar in you fasten the tarp down on the sides and rear. The kit does make it easy for one person the pull the tarp to the rear of the trailer and then the weight of the bow kit will help to hold the tarp down. I still fasten mine with bungie cords.
