  1. Do I need to use Teflon tape on the inlet and outlet fittings when I install the new tank

    1. Would not be a bad idea.
      1.5 wraps max.
      I prefer liquid Teflon sold in tubes, myself.

    2. The Buyers Hydraulic Tank would be best installed using Teflon tape to insure leak proof fittings.

  2. What size opening is the fill port?

    1. The fill port on this hydraulic tank is 2 1/4".

  3. Does the height dimension include the breather cap? What are the dimensions for only the fluid container?

    1. The overall dimensions including the breather cap will be 20 1/8" W x 15" D x 20 1/2" H. The tank only dimensions will be 15.58" W x 13.5" D x 17.5" H.

  4. can you describe each of the ports/sizes including the drain whci might be on the bottom

    1. This tank has ports on both sides. On each of the two opposing sides there is a bottom port which is 2” NPT. In the center of the same two sides there is also a 1 ¼” NPT port. The bottom drain plug is ¾” NPT.

    1. Yes, this tank has ports on both sides. On each of the two opposing sides there is a bottom port which is 2 inches NPT. In the center of the same two sides there is also a 1-1/4 inch NPT port.

  6. how does the level gauge work

    and can the level gauge be purchased separately?

    1. It has a sight level gauge on the side of the unit. It will show you the level of oil in the tank. You can view the gauge on the side by using the zoom feature for the product. The gauge can be purchased separately from our parts department at 1.800.222.5381, option #3.
