Product Summary

Buyers Heavy-Duty Standard Size Flush Mount T-Handle Latch comes with a lock and key set installed, and gasket. The latch is constructed from stainless steel for durability and corrosion-resistance. The included gasket and flush-mount design provide for a water-tight installation. The cam can adjust from 1 1/4in. to 2in. to accommodate varying door thicknesses. The latch is shaped and sized to accommodate most common cut-outs.

  1. How do these latches install?

    I have built in toolboxes on my pickup flatbed I'd like to replace. The existing latches are riveted thru the toolbox door. Are these latches drilled, or how are they installed?

    1. You should be able to look on the outside of the latches on your tool boxes, if there is a hole or rivet in them, you can drill these out and reuse them on something else. Most tool boxes have blind studs attached to them and the only way that they can be removed you have to be able to get to the mounting nuts that attach them to your tool box doors. These locks will be smooth on the outside of the locks, without any holes or rivets showing on them. We use only locks that we can rivet onto our Custom Built Tool Boxes. I hope this helps you with your tool boxes.

  2. Whats the difference between the L8855 and the L8815, they seem to have the same dims?

    1. The model L8815, item #127285 would have the mounting holes on the front for mounting, The model L8855, item #127289 would have studs on the backside for mounting.

  3. What does the back look like i need the one with pin

    1. When the key is turned, the L bracket at the end of the screw pin rotates. When you turn the T latch it will rotate around the screw pin and release the latch.

  4. This latch says it's for thick doors. I have a toolbox made from 14 gauge thick steel. Do I need the recess version of this lock or the thick version?

    1. This latch is designed to fit tool boxes that use a flush mount latch and have a 1-1/4"-2" thick door. The manufacturer of the tool box should be contacted to determine what type of latch is needed.
