  1. Water pressure regulation

    If a regulator is installed and incoming pressure drops to perhaps 5 psi, will water still flow through the regulator if it is set to 20 psi to protect the pump? Any suggestions on a regulator? My supply comes from a tank at night and under pressure from a pump at the lake during the day.

    1. To protect the pump you will want to install a check valve prior to the pump. The pressure regulator will only control the pressure of the water, not the flow of the water.

    2. a pressure regulator does not reduce the flow of water only its pressure, we do not endorse or favor a particular brand . If you are drawing water from another pump or/and tank, we recommend installing a check valve prior to the 506532SS BURCAM Booster pump.

  2. Can this be used in conjunction with a submersable pump?

    1. This pump may be used to boost pressure from a submersible deep well pump. When doing so, it is important not raise the pressure to a level which may cause damage to your piping. A pressure reducer may be required in some cases.

    2. This pump is designed to boost pressure coming form a municipal water supply. However, it may also boost pressure from a submersible deep well pump but you have to be careful to not raise the pressure to a level which may create a possible damage to your piping.
      If the incoming pressure from your submersible deep well pump is above 25 PSI, you need a pressure reducer setted to 25 PSI prior to the booster pump.

  3. Well with Holding Tank

    I have a well with holding tank but my water pressure is very poor. Looking at putting a pump after the holding tank to boost my water. Will this be an issue with my holding tank "flow"?

    1. Should work well connected after the holding tank.

    2. This BurCam Pressure Booster/Shallow Well Jet Water Pump will work for this situation. It is important that the incoming pressure does not exceed 20 PSI. If the incoming water pressure is higher than 20 PSI, you will need to install a pressure reducer.

  4. What is the maximum pressure this pump maintains and does it have any pressure tank at all?

    I need a pump to increase our municipal water pressure from 20 pounds to 50 or so pounds.

    1. pressure runs 60 lbs-as long as water volume is available, you will be pleased with the pressure.

    2. This pump will put out a 65 PSI static pressure. It does not have a pressure tank and one should not be used with this tank. To use it as a booster pump you will need 2 pressure regulators. One to go at the input and the second at the output side. The regulator at the output side would reduce the pressure down to your desired pressure increase.

  8. I have a spring fed water system that’s only supplied with 1/2 diameter pipe, will this work? I can increase the diameter at the supply and exit of the pump as the installation manual shows, but will a 1/2 supply source at roughly 13 psi be enough?

    1. The pump will need at least 20-25 PSI. The inlet size cannot be decreased to 1/2".

  9. This pump builds 90psi of pressure. Can I put a pressure reducer after the pump to reduce that pressure on my plumbing system?

    1. Ideally a second pressure reducer should not be used, however; if one is placed after the output, it should be placed after the first 3 feet of 1 inch diameter pipe required at the outlet. It should not be set to less than 70 PSI otherwise there will be excess back pressure in the body of the pump and will cause damage to the pump.

  10. should this be installed before or after the backflow preventor. it is being used for a sprinkler system only supplied by municipal water.

    1. A backflow preventer is not required when drawing from a municipal source. A pressure regulator is required and should be set to 25 PSI max.
