This BravePro Compact Chain-Type Trencher is small in size, but big on performance. The commercial grade 163cc GX160 Honda engine teams with the carbide-tipped shark teeth on the chain to easily dig a 3in.W trench up to depths of 18in. Reaches maximum chain speeds of 180 fpm. The operator-propelled unit is narrow enough to fit through gates and doorways and will trench close to walls, fences and other obstructions.

  3. Can this trench through about 4" of gravel pathway?

    1. This trencher digs a 3" wide trench. For a wider path, it would be recommended to dig two trenches side by side.

  4. Where would I buy a replacement chain for this unit?

    1. The replacement chain is part number BR60133S.GRD. This can be ordered through our Parts Department at 1-800-657-0516. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 6:00PM, Saturday 8:00AM - 5:00PM and Sunday 8:00AM - 3:00PM Central Time.

    1. The engine is rated for 4.8 HP at 3600 RPM.

  6. how do you control ground speed when trenching

    1 answer

    1. The throttle control for the engine speed is the silver handle on the side of the handle shaft. The trencher is operator propelled. Using an intermittent pulling action, pull the trencher toward you 4 to 6 inches then relax your pull, allowing the trencher to again reach the chosen depth.
