  1. Will it work in vineyards & orchards?

    All the 4/5 start reviews seem to be about protecting barns/sheds. I want to protect fruit from various species. Is this the product or is there another designed more specifically for fruit production?

  2. Does this works with bats?

    1. I have two units in my barn; one set for woodpeckers and the other set for starlings. Right outside on the edge of my barn is a board bolted to the siding such that there is a gap of about an inch between the barn siding and the board. It houses probably 2 to 3 hundred bats. So I would say no, it doesn't bother them at all. The most sensitive range of bat hearing is approximately between 15 kHz to 90 kHz which is well above our normal hearing range, or that of common birds, so sounds that we hear may not be heard by them and vice verca. I would doubt that the manufacturer could come up with a bat sound specifically but it is worth asking them if they can do it; they have the ability to custom-program specific species into the unit.

  3. Where is the optical sensor located that determines "day or night"

    1. On the front panel, to the right of center, underneath the clear plastic flip lid. In a dark building, it will not work - you have to have some light exposure for this unit to determine the difference between day and night. They also provide an "always on" mode where day/night doesn't matter.

    2. The picture we have online is an old picture. Looking at the picture we have, the optical sensor would be located to the right of the black mode button on the unit.

  4. How many speakers come with this product.

    I have seen similar products that offer you a choice on the number of speakers you can order with the unit. I am interested to know if this product offers that feature.

    1. This unit comes with the main speaker, plus it has weatherproof jacks for the addition of up to 4 additional speakers.

    2. This super sonic bird chaser includes one internal speaker. An additional pair of satellite speakers is available separately. The item# for the pair of satellite speakers is MSNTSONIC-SP2. Since they don't appear on Northern's website, please call 1-800-221-0516 for price and availability.

    will it keep birds out of my cherry trees?

    1. it has keep the black birds and the dove away from us but we don't have any fruit trees but it doses the job for us

  7. What is the db spec on this product? Is there a setting to change db level? What options are there for a timer on the device.

    1. This bird repeller has an adjustable volume control. It can be set to run day time only, night time only or all the time. When the device is turned on, it will play for 2 minutes, then pause for ten minutes and continue this cycle until the unit is turned off.

    1. The bird repeller can be mounted at slightly above ground level. It is recommended to mount it within arms reach, so you can reach the controls.
