Product Summary

Better Built sturdy 14-gauge steel tank is designed for safe transport of nonflammable fuels. Tank features a lockable cap, reinforced bungs, mounting brackets, lifting eyes, durable powder-coat finish and more. Tank is 100% pressure and submersion tested. Built-in baffles add strength while preventing the contents from shifting too quickly. Includes GPI electric pump with 12V DC motor and rotary gear design that delivers up to 15 GPM flow rates. Pump is made of lightweight, durable cast aluminum and can be used with diesel fuel and kerosene. Not to be connected to existing fuel system. Tank is not intended for use with gasoline or other flammable fuels.

    1. The fuel transfer tank is designed for safe transport of diesel fuel and is intended for private use and not for interstate commerce. It is not specifically DOT certified.

  3. How Does this unit hold up in extreme heat/cold?

    1. The diesel fuel transfer tanks are designed to handle both extreme heat and cold weather. You do need to take into consideration the fuel. For cold weather you would want to add additives to improve the cold flow. For hot weather, keep in mind fuel expands and be sure to fill the tank to a safe level to allow for expansion.

  5. How do power cords work , do they need to be permanently mounted on batteries or do they come with the old school clamps that hook up like jumper cables ?

    1. The pump on this tank kit will include bare wires for battery connection. Alligator clamps and terminal post rings are not included. It is the responsibility of the end user to supply these if they wish to use them for battery connection.

    1. A fuel gauge meter can be added. Northern Tool + Equipment does not offer one that is compatible.

  9. So it says diesel compatible, but not DOT approved for flammable liquids?? Or can only diesel be stored going down the road?

    1. Diesel fuel is far less flammable than gasoline. This tank is approved for use with transporting diesel fuel and kerosene.

    1. The transfer tanks are designed to be installed in a truck bed and should be mounted per the installation instructions.
