Product Summary

This Bare Ground Mag Plus Liquid De-icer with Corrosion Inhibitor can be applied before, during or after an expected snowfall. A thin mist is enough to create and prevent ice and snow from bonding to the surface of the ground, with a nonstick effect that lasts up to ten days. When applied during snowfall the deicer can reduce snow buildup by up to 2in. and if sprayed after snowfall it helps melt residual patches of ice and snow. U.S.A.

  1. Is there a recommended sq foot coverage for this item

    1. Bare Ground says 1,000 Sq Ft per Gallon.
      I do a little over 1,300 Sq Ft with less than a gallon.
      Most of that is new concrete with a smooth surface.
      A little goes a long way.
      I use the 1 gallon the Bare Ground hand sprayer and do not completely wet out the surface. Lots of little dots that seem to grow after I put it down.
      After 15 to 30 minutes it looks like I did completely wet out the surface.

    2. No, because you have to saturate the area that you are putting this product down on so what I have done is purchase more than needed.

    2. This product is Magnesium Chloride and can be used to reduce dust on a gravel road. Item 50657 is Calcium Chloride and will do a better job of keeping down dust.

    1. This product can be used on wood surfaces so it will be fine on a deck and steps.

  5. can i spray on my car before a storm ?

    1. Due to the fact it is a salt solution I would not use it on the car. I do not know the effects if used on the windshield and wouldn't want to take the chance.

    2. You can spray on your car however it is not recommended or designed for that. The viscosity of the product will leave a sticky film on the windshield and the vehicle.
