Could this be used on solar panels with the aluminun frames

It is not recommended to be used on solar panels. It could cause streaking on the panels as well as the fluid itself is electrically conductive and could cause damage to the electrical components. If a de-icer is required on solar panels a better solution would be a Potassium Formate solution like our item#99765.

I how much do I apply

The amount of de-icer will depend on how you are applying it. This can be used before, during, or after a snowfall. It can be used to spot treat or cover and entire surface. If you are covering an entire surface, one gallon will cover 1,000 square feet.
