  1. Strength capacity of pole extensions

    I have a tall house in which the roof line is about 30' or higher. Ideally, I would like to not have to get on a large extension ladder to use this product. How many extension poles can be added before this products bows and loses it's strength?

    1. Eight-twelve feet worked well. The more we added on the more it bowed and was not easy to control. Also if you cannot stand aligned on the ground with this tool it does not work well. We have about 4-5 feet of snow on the ground and it was not an easy task to operate this rake. One major downfall with this tool is the slide - it's very light and blows all over the place with the slightest breeze. It needs some added weight on the end to hold it flat against the roof as the picture shows. I only used it on my garage as I could not get the right distance or angle to use on my double-wide home.

    2. The Avalanche Wheeled Roof Rake is able to handle one extension kit. The extension kit Includes two 4-foot fiberglass poles for a total add-on of 8 feet. The extension kit would make the overall length 24 feet.

    1. Due to the design of this roof rake, it is best to use from the base of the roof to the peak.

  5. i have a metal roof. What one would you recommend I would need to order?

    1. This roof rake will work on a metal roof. If the edge of the roof is a concern, larger wheels can be obtained from the manufacturer.

  6. Would this work pulling from above

    Does the plastic slide pivot completely to allow the device to be pulled rather than pushed?
    I have a monitor roof with windows that I usually reach out to push the snow off the main roof. It is back breaking work. This tool might help if it can be pulled without an issue.
    Anyone try this tool in a pulling direction?

    I'm a bit skeptical on how well the slide part (plastic?) will endure a metal roof edge. Anyone have experience with this?

    1. It is recommended that you replace the 1-1/2" wheels with 3" wheels that you can get directly from the manufacturer.

    1. This wheeled roof rake is designed for snow removal on roofs only. Use on solar panels or glass windows is not advisable.
