Product Summary

The DVAG17-DF Direct Vent Wall Heater from Ashley Hearth Products makes the perfect solution for zoned heating. The space-saving direct vent furnace design mounts to an exterior wall, and the adjustable vent assembly fits walls from 4-1/2in. to 10in. thick. For clean, comfortable heat when and where you want it, the gas flame is completely sealed inside, away from all contact with room air. Air necessary for combustion is drawn into the chamber from outside through the vent, and combustion products are vented directly to the outside. Only clean, gentle heat in continuous circulation is delivered into the room. Windows and doors stay closed because no room air is used for combustion. The DVAG17-DF direct vent dual fuel wall furnace is designed to heat up to 570 Sq. Ft., with a 17,000 BTU input.

  1. Can this run off a common 20lb propane tank? If so, approximately how many hours will it run on a full tank? Since this is highly variable, guesses are welcome. I intend to mainly run the unit over night in a small cabin, and not 24/7.

    1. Yes, it can run on a standard 20 lb propane tank, but we don’t recommend it. Smaller tanks are more prone to freezing, especially when paired with higher-BTU heaters. As a general estimate, a 20 lb tank provides roughly 24 hours of continuous burn time, though actual runtime will vary based on heat settings and conditions.

    2. While this heater can run off a 20lb tank, this heater is designed for permanent wall mounting. It would run approximately 10-12 hours continuously. It is highly recommended to have a licensed technician install it to meet local, state, and national fuel gas codes.

    1. This is a propane only heater, no electricity is used. Clearances should be 6" to the floor and 46" from the top of the heater to the ceiling.

    1. This wall heater is designed for use with natural gas (NG) or liquid propane (LP). There is a dial on the back of the unit that should be set to the appropriate gas type when the heater is installed.

    1. This heater includes an extra orifice that can be drilled to the necessary size for the altitude. Please consult a local gas technician to get the correct size.

  7. can you get longer vent pipe i have 15 inchs of wall

    1. This model is only approved for installation on exterior walls with a thickness between 4.5" and 10". You cannot extend the vent kit.

  8. How accurate is the built in thermostat? Using this in a tiny home in MN.

    1. This unit comes with a thermobulb that will slow the gas flow and even shut the burner off at certain temperatures. This is not a thermostat in which you set. This is the only temperature control that is offered on this heater.
