  1. How many rack safety bars are recommended for a 96” span?

    1. The number of support bars will vary based on load displacement and what is being placed on the rack. You would want to place enough safety bars to fully support the weight of the pallets and to comfortably support the bottom of the pallet depending on the pallet size.

  2. How far off the floor must the first shelf be placed

    I am looking for shelving that allows for floor storage underneath the first shelf. I need/desire a shelving system that will perform if the first shelf is 40 inches off the floor. I understand the concerns about loading the shelf heavy on the top without proper ballast at the bottom unless attached to the wall. I don't want the legs to bow out at the bottom if the first shelf in not at the lowest level. Thanks.

    1. The beams can be adjusted to what you want. The basic requirement is 48" from the ground to the first beam. You would be alright with the 40" off the floor.
