  1. is there a stering device to break lumps?

    1. There is a linkage clip that goes through the top of the slinger shaft that provides some stirring action. I would not rely on the clip to break up any chunks.

    2. This spreader does not come with anything that will break up clumps. That would have to be done by hand. There is a grate that is available from the manufacturer that would prevent lumps from clogging the spreader.
