  1. What engine oil is recommended for the A i 12000 E generator? Brand? Weight?

    1. Hi Thomas, Thank you for your question. We recommend using a high-quality 4-stroke engine oil that meets or exceeds API SJ or later specifications. For most operating conditions, SAE 10W-30 is the recommended viscosity. If you'll be operating the generator in consistently colder or hotter temperatures, the owner's manual includes a viscosity chart to help you select the appropriate oil. There is no required brand, so any reputable manufacturer that meets these specifications is suitable. ~A-iPower Customer Support Team

  2. What is the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) of this generator when running under load?

    1. The manufacturer does not provide a total harmonic distortion rating on this generator.

      Thanks for your question! The SUA9000EP is a standard open-frame generator, not an inverter model, so it does not have a published Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) rating. Most conventional generators of this type typically produce THD around 20% or less under load, which is perfectly suitable for tools, appliances, and general household backup power.

      If you plan to run sensitive electronics (like computers, TVs, or medical equipment), we’d recommend using a surge protector or line conditioner for added protection, or consider one of our inverter generators, which produce a cleaner sine wave with <5% THD.

  3. What brand of engine and generator are these. Where were they manufactured?

    1. The generator and engine are manufactured overseas by A-iPower in accordance with U.S. standards.

  4. What type of battery for starter

    1. The generator will require a 12 volt 12-14AH sealed lead acid battery. The measurements on the battery should be 5.9" L x 3.4" W x 5.1" H. The battery will need to have left positive and right negative terminals.
