Product Summary

The Powermatic, 209BHH-3, PM1-479, 20in. planer is engineered for environments equipped with three phase power. Featuring a 5 HP, 3 PH motor rated for 230V or 460V operation, this planer delivers consistent high output performance for demanding production settings. A 20in. cutting width and 8in. maximum thickness capacity provide the capability to process wide and heavy stock efficiently. Its four row helical cutterhead with 68 four sided inserts operating at 5200 RPM produces a refined surface finish with long insert life and reduced noise, and cutterhead access allows fast insert rotation and replacement. The integrated digital readout supports precise thickness adjustments, and two feed speeds of 16 and 28 FPM allow operators to balance productivity and finish quality. Solid cast iron tables and a 51-1/2in. overall table surface provide the rigidity needed for consistent results, while a 4in. dust port with a 900 CFM minimum requirement maintains effective chip management. Enhanced mobility features and an oversized emergency stop complete a platform built for both performance and safety.
