Hooks, Wire Clips, Security Snaps + Quick Links
In the material handling industry, security snaps and quick links ensure the safe movement of goods and equipment. Security snaps, also known as safety hooks or carabiners, are components of lifting and rigging operations, providing a reliable means to secure loads and prevent accidental disconnects. These connectors are designed to withstand heavy loads and harsh conditions, offering a dependable fastening of various materials. Quick links, facilitate convenient connections of chains, ropes, and other components in material handling setups. Their ease of use creates strong and reliable connections in lifting, rigging and towing applications.
Security Snap + Wire Clip Frequently Asked Questions:
Are wire clips and security snaps compatible with other fastening systems?
Yes, these types of fasteners are compatible with lifeline systems, lanyard systems and more.
What are wire clips and security snaps typically made from?
Wire clips are typically made of 316 stainless steel, hot-dipped galvanized steel, malleable zinc-plated steel, aluminum or copper. Security snaps come in a wide variety of materials including brass, stainless steel, die-cast zinc and more.
What size range do wire clips and security snaps come in?
Typically you'll find wire clips in sizes ranging from 1/8in.–1/2in. Security snaps are typically available in sizes ranging from 3/16in.–1/2in. diameter.
What are the load capacity limits for quick linking chains?
The working load limit (WLL) of quick linked chains typically ranges up to 3,600lbs.
What safety precautions should I take when using quick linking chains?
Be sure that the quick link chain you’re using has working and breaking weights compatible with your load weight. A safe WLL will always be lower than the chain failure weight (breaking strength) by a ratio of 1:4. Nonetheless, your load should not exceed the WLL of your quick linking chain. It’s important to note that doubling the number of quick link chains with equal WLLs does NOT double your working load capacity; it simply gives you two different spots with the same WLL.
