  1. will this work on a concrete patio?

    1. The bracket is made to "hang over the edge" so if your patio is flat with the ground around it you may be better off getting a different product.

    2. It could...depending on the thickness of your concrete pad and concrete anchor screws.

    3. It would be difficult because of anchoring into concrete, but it can be accomplished.

    4. This item is designed to be used on wood decks. It could be used on concrete, however it would need to be used on the edge of a slab that is at least 7" thick and the concrete would need to be drilled and concrete anchors used. Please note that drilling this close to the edge of a slab is not recommended because it is easy to crack the surface and ultimately break chunks of it off.

  2. Used on an existing dock?

    Has anyone used these to build a bench on a new or existing dock instead of a deck?

    1. Yes, as long as you have a solid surface for the bracket to rest against (on the side of the dock) and, of course you would attach it to the floor of the dock. The key is that you need to have a vertical board to connect it to also.

  3. What size joist & decking does this fit?

    I have 8" joist & 1.5" decking

    1. If your decking is solid this bracket should work fine. You could add some 2by material on the underside of the decking between the joists to strengthen it if you are concerned.

    2. The manufacturer does not list a joist or decking size. The part of the bracket that would sit on the back side would be 6 1/2" and the part of the bracket that sits on the deck would be 4 1/2". The brackets are designed to be used with 2 x 4 boards.

  4. What is spacing distance between each bracket to determine how many brackets needed to properly support seating?

    1. Space the bench brackets no more than 24 inches (60 CM) apart and 12 inches (30 CM) from the ends of the bench.

  5. I am trying to see if I have clearance between my floating deck and house to install these. Can anyone tell me the deck edge to top outside corner measurement when everything is installed as required? So, measured horizontally, not along the 40" board.

    1. The total height of the assembled unit will be 36" (91 CM) from the deck surface.

  6. what are the dimensions in inches of the brackets? The height of the bench? The depth also ? I'm asking for the size of the bracket itself?
