You probably could bolt it to the deck if you have the tools to cut through the rubber and metal handle. I leave this outside for a wheelchair without bolting or tieing it down and it does bounce a little at around 500 lbs of weight, especially at the middle. Use good quality pressure treated plywood, and you could also add decking over it to match your deck and add more support.

Can this ramp be permanently attached to stairs?
I’d like to use this ramp for my dog. I’d like to place it on top of four deck stairs. Can I attach the top of the ramp to the deck?
Also, is there much “give” or bounce to this ramp? I’m looking for something that feels very solid without any bounce.
Thank you!

There was no bounce with this product, it is very stable. If you can drill a hole through the red handles into the surface you are stepping up to then yes you could attach it.

There are 2 coated fingers on the end of the frame to prevent the ramp from slipping, but nothing for attaching permanently to stairs. The bounce would be determined by the size (width) of the plywood you use to build this ramp.

What’s the width of this ramp?
What’s the max width of the walkable area of this ramp? Thank you.

The instructions say 48 inches. However the consideration you must give is how wide the area you must enter is. If it's a door frame of 33" you need to cut the boards to be 33" or just a bit smaller. The red handles that provide the attachment to the stepped surface are fixed to the sides...it's not advisable to move them from being attached to the metal sides. Although if you could custom make yourself some metal support that would span the width of the board that might work but would be going off spec for the product.

How much does this weigh when fully assembled with the plywood?
-
AMAZEBALLS· 8 years ago
Not sure the final weight as it would depend also on how wide the wood you get for it....but it's too much for me as one person to handle. I can easily lift 50 lbs and can lift up to 100 lbs but this is too much to lift and move safely as just me. So a two person lift on either end is best and very doable.

The West Build-Your-Own Utility Ramp Kit comes with the side rails weighing 56 pounds. The approximate weight would be determined by the grade/weight of plywood used to complete the ramp kit.

Hello - is there a way I can add cedar boards on top of the plywood so the cedar boards can be stained with the same product we used on our cedar deck so the ramp matches?
1 answer-
ProductExpert29· 3 years ago
Cedar boards could be attached to the plywood you use to build this ramp. Please note, plywood is not included and is supplied by the end user.

Is there a way to attach a handrail to this?
1 answer-
ProductExpert12· 7 years ago
At this time, there is no handrail kit available to work with this ramp kit. We do not recommend attaching a handrail to the beams as modifications could cause damage and would void the warranty of the ramp kit.
