    2. It will fold vertical with a few inches clearance between the ramp and your vehicle. The ramp folds flat to the deck of the carrier and is held in place by a spring loaded pin.

    3. Yes, but there is a gap of about 10" from edge of frame to my hatch, not big enough to fully open rear hatch on SUV

    4. Yes, but there is still about 6 to 8 inches of clearance between the unit and back of vehicle so no chance of damage to vehicle.

  3. Can the side walls be removed (or not installed)?

    I can't 100% for sure tell from the photos if the side walls can be removed (or simply not installed). Could you help me?

    1. No, you don't have too install the sides but you also would not be able to install the ramp as you need the sides for the ramp install.

    2. The sidewalls are used to hold the ramp. I would not suggest not using them.

  4. Need a suggestion for a light kit due to truck lights being blocked when the carrier is locked in the folded position

    1. I'm using a led light strip, the ones that go under a truck tail gate. Works great and plugs into trailer light.

    2. you can mount trailer lights on it and plug them into your trailer harness connector.

    3. Suggest adding a LED trailer light kit hooked to your trailer coupler.

    4. This cargo carrier with ramp can be used with an LED tailgate fire(light) strip, item #333249. This lightstrip comes with adhesive backing and a 4-pin wiring harness. It may be positioned on the truck's tailgate above the area that the cargo carrier would cover. Click the link below to view this LED tailgate fire strip. Northern Tool doesn't carry other red/brake lights for attaching to the rear of a truck/vehicle.

    1. Yes, it can. You need to un bolt it thou.

    4. The ramp for the Ultra-Tow Cargo Carrier can be removed by removing the bolts that hold the unit to the trailer.

  7. What are the Interior Dimensions with ramp folded up?

    1. With the ramp in the vertical fold the usable deck is 27.5" x 59". There is a spring loaded pin on the very rear which extends 1.5" into the deck, 20" in from the ramp, but this can be pulled back to allow something to move past it. This pin is used to hold the ramp flat against the deck when you want to fold the carrier up 90 degrees for empty transport.

    2. This cargo carrier with the ramp in the upright position has inside dimensions of 59-3/4" L x 27-3/4" W.

  8. Is the support bracket and folding bar cetered on the carrier Base? This will effect blocking taillights on 2015 Ford Escape.

    It will determine which carrier I would purchase. The 49" or 60"

    1. Yes, I bought the 60" and use it on a suburban and it does not cover the tail lights up. Don't know if it would cover the tail lights on a smaller vehicle like the Escape or not.

  9. Is the ANTI-WOBBLER collar a separate asset that be used or not or is it built on to the receiver tube? Is it the Anti-Wobbler collar #17753?

    •2in. receiver tube has an anti-wobble collar to reduce rattle and play while in use

    1. it is built in. The lock pin on this unit that secures it in to you hitch is threaded with a locking pin at the end. You will thread it through and can make it as tight or as loose you prefer and reast assured it will not come out because of the secure pin in the end of it.

    I will be transporting a 90 LB Pellet cooker,,,will this be ok

    1. You can transport a pellet cooker with this carrier as long as it safely fits in the carrier and is properly strapped down.
