I just cut a solid bar of 7/8" thick round stock steel in a few seconds so I don't understand why it says only 1/16"?
Also sliced thru 1/8" wall steel tubing.
It kicks butt.

Using the saw for home use; not professional use.
It depends highly on what you use it for . If you use it on wood it should last a long time but if you go threw a big nail as well it will reduce the longevity quite a bit . But just a staple or something like this may not be to bad . If you bought it to cut threw the car , like the video you may have to change it before you finish , even with the blade lube .

The life of the blades depends on two factors, how often you are using it and what materials you are cutting. These blades last 25% longer than your average blade and are laser honed and tungsten refined for strength and durability.
