  1. Does this pump have auto on/off when water gets hi/low?

    1. This pump does not have an auto on/off option. You would need to purchase the float switch, item #29073 for it to have that option.

  2. Does it have a built-in switch to keep if from running if dry?

    1 answer

    1. The pump would have a thermal protector to keep it from overheating if it were to run dry. Once the pump cools down it would allow it to continue pumping. If it were to keep tripping the thermal protector, it would eventually burn out the motor. You can purchase a float switch, item #29073 for this pump that would allow it to come on at a certain water level and shut off when goes below that level.

  4. Can this be used as a black water pump in a septic system?

    The pump in our black water tank failed. The replacement needs to be able to exist unattended at the bottom of the black water tank and pump against a head of about 25 feet.

    1. This Tsurumi Pump is designed to pump water, rain water and ground water. It cannot be used for black water. For a black water pump for that head distance we have a Sewage Pump available, item #105760.

    1. This pump can operate from 32 degrees Fahrenheit to a maximum of 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
      In Celsius this would be 0 to 40 degrees.
