  3. Is the fan head capable of being tilted up and down or cannot be tilted?

    1. It can be tilted at two angles, either straight out or down. This is accomplished by using the bolt supplied in your choice of one of the two angles.

    2. It can be tilted, however only a few degrees. You could increase the slot length to make it angle further if needed.

    3. The mounting bracket gives you the option to mount it in a straight forward position or a slightly tilted down position. It does not have an option to tilt up.

    I'd like to use this fan outside on a deck. It would not be operated in the rain, it would just get rained on occasionally.

    1. This fan is for indoor use only. It cannot be used outdoors. The enclosed motor is for protection from dust and debris.

  10. Is there any way to make the fan quieter?

    I recently purchased this fan and love it, it's just that it is so loud it sounds like a plane taking off (at low speeds!). Is there any way to make it a little quieter when operating?

    1. There is not a way to reduce the noise produced by this fan besides choosing the lower speed settings.
