Product Summary

These Strongway™ Manual Chain Hoist are industrial-quality hoists with a classic round-style and a heat-treated double pawl, 3-piece disc brake system to ensure reliability. This unit meets ASME B30.21/HST-3 safety standards and features a Grade 80 load chain for high-level strength. Easy-to-identify 2-tone chains. Tough, ductile drop-forged hooks ensure noticeable opening when subject to excessive overload. Roller bearing design, zinc-plated side plate and asbestos-free friction disc ensure smooth operation. Compact design allows low headroom. 360° swivel hook includes a stamping safety latch. The safety coefficient of this unit is at least 4:1. Unit withstands 1500 cycles with 110% of rated capacity, at least 300mm per cycle. This hoist has been tested to 150% of rated capacity.

  2. Does this lever chain hoist allow chain to be free flow extended to set hook?

    1. Yes, it has a “free wheel” capability.

    2. This Strongway Hoist has a freewheel option. You would place the selector switch on the handle in the center neutral position. This will allow the freewheel mode. The chain will be in free-wheel mode when there is no load.

  3. Horizontal Pulling?

    Can this product be used in the horizontal position to pull immobile cars similar to a come-a-long? It seems like the easy adjust chain would be a better option than the spooled up cable on a come-a-long. I'm mostly interested for nearly flat pulling vehicles into my shop once I've towed them as close as I can get. I would also consider using it to pull the same vehicles up the ramp on a tilt construction trailer.

    1. This hoist may be used either in a vertical position as a hoist or in an angled or horizontal position as a puller.
