    1. To use a raker gauge, first turn off the chainsaw, allow it to cool, and secure it on a stable surface. Engage the chain brake for safety. Clean the chain thoroughly by removing any sawdust, resin, or debris to ensure accurate measurements. Position the raker gauge over the small protrusion (raker) in front of each cutting tooth, check its height, and use a flat file to carefully file it down until it's level with the gauge slot.

    1. This chain sharpener is not recommended for sharpening the blade of the Stihl GTA 26. A 1/8" round file is recommended instead, along with a file holder or sharpening guide designed for 1/4" pitch chains.
