  1. Wood and metal bandsaw

    I work mostly in metal, will this saw work on metal? Is there some sort of rheostat I could use to slow the blade speed down?

    1. metal cutting runs at much lower speed than 1800
      I talked to the tech and there is a component in the motor which will not allow you to slow it down. if you do it will burn out the motor.
      however if you use a bi-metal blade and cut thin material it will work. you also have to clean the wheels the blade spins on to keep the metal shavings off. the wheels have a rubber coating.

    2. This Shop Fox band saw will not work with metal and you can not use a rheostat to slow the blade down.
