  2. Is the cable on the puller all metal or does it have a nylon core inside the cable?

    1. All metal.

  3. Can it be used for lowering weights at controled speed?

    1. In my opinion the come-along puller is not meant to be used in this manner. A chain hoist would be a safer way of controlling the speed of lowering a given weight.

    2. You would lower by hand with your control one notch at a time with the ratchet. The travel distance would vary depending on how many wraps of cable are on the drum. You would have better distance control with a chain hoist (see options below).

  4. How long is it from hook to hook when fully winched together? I need pull something close together and if the tool is too long it won't work.

    1. With the pulley in a straight line, the fully retracted distance to the bottom inside of each hook measures approximately 23-3/8".

  5. Are replacement parts available?

    The release brake control broke on mine and I would like to replace the part rather than the entire tool.

  6. Does the capacity icrease if the load line is doubled?

    1. You would not be able to double the line on the cable puller. It already has a snatch block on it and can only be used as is. It has a pulling capacity of 4 ton and a lifting capacity of 2 ton.

    1. The Roughneck Cable Puller is rated for pulling only, not for lifting. We do offer our manual chain hoists for lifting.
