Romo Tech Hitch-Mounted Poly Cargo Carrier slides into your vehicle's 2in. receiver hitch to provide portable, accessible storage that doesn't take up valuable passenger space in your vehicle. It's the perfect way to haul camping, hiking, fishing, and other recreational gear in your car, truck, van, or RV. The fully enclosed, water-resistant cargo box features high density polyethylene construction that's lightweight but extremely durable. It offers 17 cubic feet of functional space and holds up to 200 pounds. The double-walled lid has two pad-lockable hasps to help keep your gear secure (padlocks sold separately). The durable steel hitch frame features a corrosion resistant black powder-coated finish. It comes pre-drilled for easy assembly and installation.

  1. Can this chest be locked? Which frame do I have to buy for the receiver? Thanks.

    1. Yes it has hasps that can be locked.

    2. It can be locked with two locks. It comes with the frame for a 2" receiver.

    3. This chest can be locked by a padlock (not included) on either of the two hasps. There is no additional frame to be purchased with this unit. It comes with everything needed to attach to a 2" receiver hitch.

  2. what is the measurement from the top of the hitch to the top of the box?

    1. 26-1/2 inches

    1. It does come with the mounting platform which goes into a 2" receiver.

      The outside dimensions of the base of the plastic box are 48" L and 23" wide (front to back).

    1. Slide the RomoTech (Model# 82123385F) into the hitch, secure it with the included five-eighths inch hitch pin and clip, tighten bolts if needed, check stability, and load your items (up to 300 lbs).

    1. The cargo chest would not cover the exhaust pipes on the vehicle.

  7. How secure is the Bucket? Will someone be able to easily force the lid open, even with it locked, how thick is the plastic, is it like a tough bucket thick, or like a bed liner thick?

    1. The tailgate box has two clasps, and is made from very rigid plastic (like a tough Bucket) it would be extremely difficult to force the lid open when locked.

  8. Can this be used with a 2", Class II receiver?

    1. This will fit a 2" class 3 or 4 hitch. A class 2 hitch is 1 1/4".
