  1. What kind of replacement spool can I use for this trimmer? I can't see to find one for the Remington Brand. Is there another brand compatible?

    1. The replacement spool can be purchased directly from MTD, the manufacturer, or locally. The part number for the replacement spool is 953-1156. This is the number that should be stated on package of compatible brands. If only line is needed, look for a cutting line with a .095" diameter.

    What is the direction of rotation of the trimmer head when looking from engine end to head end?

    1. This Remington Trimmer would have a clockwise rotation as you would be holding it to operate looking down at the head.
