    1. Yes. Key must be off with the remote switch on. Press the lock symbol to shut off generator.

  2. Is a starting battery included with the generator

    1. My unit had a battery and started right up. Instructions state to charge battery first. I thought that I would give it a try out of box without charging and had NO problems.. MUST put OIL and fuel in unit before starting.

  3. Parallel Operation

    Does this have the feature whereby I can by two and hook them up and have a 30 amp plug for my RV?

    1. yes, with the bridging kit and a second generator

  4. HOW DOES THE REMOTE START WORK ?

    1. key on generator must be in the "off" position and the remote switched to the "on" position. Don't forget to turn off the remote switch on the generator when done using the unit.

    2. Turn the fuel valve lever to the "ON" position.
      Move the remote selector switch to the "ON" position.
      Push the start button on the remote twice and hold until the engine has started.
      Always put the remote switch on the generator in the “OFF” position when not in use, to prevent running down the battery.

      The maximum operating range is 75’ based on a clear line of site.

  5. Does this generator recharge the starting battery while running?

    1. As long as you maintain your battery and keep it in good condition the generator will recharge the starting battery while running.

  6. Is it possible use an auxilery gas tank to increase run time between fueling?

    1. Northern Tool does not offer an extended run system for this generator. It will run 7 1/2 hours at 1/4 load.

  7. 240 volt support?

    I need 8 amp 240 volt output. Can this unit be configured for that?

    1. This Powerhouse generator will not support 240 volts. The Powerhouse 6500 watt has 240 volt, item 13684. Or other options avaiable (see below).

  8. will it power small camper?

    my camper needs a L5-30R receptacle (30 amps) -will this unit be big enough if I use a plug adapter?

    1. To properly answer this question you would have to determine the total wattage of each appliance. You would want to take amps x watts, to figure out the total watts for each appliance. You would want to take that number x 2.5 to figure out surge wattage or start up wattage for the appliance. You would want to do that for each appliance you want to run and add them up. This generator will handle 2100 Surge watts or 2000 running watts.
