  1. what makes the nozzles turn?

    1. This surface cleaner must be connected to a pressure washer to clean. The pressurized water that the pressure washer produces causes the nozzles to turn. The surface cleaner requires a minimum of 870 PSI and 2 GPM and a maximum of 3000 PSI and 4 GPM to operate it.

    4. Hydrodynamic flow makes them turn. They are free spinning and "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". The water flowing out the nozzle is a jet that pushes the rotating wand in a circular path-the opposite direction..

  2. Will this clean mildew on concrete?

    I get green mildew on concrete during the summer here in Florida. Very slow to clean with wand. Does anyone know if this surface cleaner will or will not take it off?

    1. This surface cleaner is effective and easy to handle, making it ideal to clean flat surfaces. It does not improve the performance of a pressure washer. Shown below is item 47922, a mold and mildew wash that will help with mildew.

    3. Yes it will take off mold and mildew. It is very slow but gets the job done. I did not use any soap of aditives but you might have to get some if your build up is heavy.

  3. connecting to pressure washer

    My pressure washer requires that it be connected to water to start. Part of that process requires that the trigger on the wand to depressed to relieve the pressure. If the wand is removed and connected to cleaner, how do you relieve the pressure to start? Does the water just simply flow through the cleaner?

    1. Yes just connect it to your wand hold the trigger and pull the starter.

    2. Your wand is going to be attached to the surface cleaner so you can simply whole the trigger while you start your washer. It works rather easy cause I have this tool

  5. Will this unit work with pavers and polymetric sand

    I am considering purchasing a Powerhorse to clean my paver patio. It was professionally installed and polymetric sand was used for the joints. The joints at most are 1/8". Will using this unit to clean the pavers upset the sand in the joints. If does, I would resand, but I am curious if it the pressure would effect the paver bed. Are the nozzles fan spray? Is the surface cleaner the correct tool?

    1. Yes, although the cleaning power is derived from the pressure washer pressure and gallons per minute water flow, not the surface cleaner. This will definitely blow out the sand, but you can come back and put down more polymetric sand after to complete the job.

    3. it shouldn't effect the grout ,if the grout was mixed correctly to begin with. works well in most of any type of cleaning tile projects.

    4. After using this product I can tell you it does indeed work on pavers but sand will come out of the joints. As long as you you resand this product should work well

    5. The surface cleaner can be used on the pavers on your patio. It would upset the sand in the joints. The unit has two rotating spray nozzles.

  8. How is the connection made with the pressure washer lance? Are additional fittings or adapters required?

    the image shows a male threaded end. Since pressure washers are usually equipped with 1/4" quick connect fittings, how is the connection made?

    1. This surface cleaner has 22mm male hose end fitting. Our pressure washer gun, item #43277 would fit onto this hose end. The gun has a 3/8" female quick couple on the other end.

    2. No quick connect fitting--it screws on to the wand where the nozzle end attaches to the handle. On a Powerhorse that is mid way between the nozzle and grip. I may be a bit short if your handle end is not that long. Check out the Powerhorse 2.5GPM pressure washer in the northern tool cat. It is designed to fit on that wand.

    3. Very easy. Just unscrew the wand and screw on the fitting on the unit. You still have the handle for shut off and use to control the cleaner.

  9. Will this work on asphalt driveways

    1. If your driveway is in crumbly condition, I believe it will abrade the surface a bit. My driveway is in good condition and it did remove some old sealer, but left the asphalt clean, after rinsing.
