When sizing a unit for backup power purposes, it should be taken into consideration that the maximum power decreases about 3.5% for each 1,000 feet above sea level and will also decrease about 1% for each 6°C (10°F) above 16°C (60°F) ambient temperature, meaning a larger unit may be required to power the items desired during an outage situation.

Generac's 7kw PowerPact automatic standby generator, model number 6519, requires the use of a U1, 12V, 300 CCA (minimum) battery. Please note that the battery is not included with the unit and should be purchased separately.

Generac’s 7kW CorePower automatic standby generator can cover a wide range of household appliances and items, however the exact items it can cover will vary for each application. The 7kW unit is rated for a continuous output of 7,000 watts when utilizing liquid propane, and 6,000 watts when utilizing natural gas, with a rated amperage of 29.2 amps at 240 volts when operating on propane, and 25 Amps at 240 volts when operating on natural gas. We recommend ensuring that all of the items you intend to run will not exceed this rating.

The loads required in a house will vary, and are not determined by the square footage of the home, but are determined by the items you deem necessary to run in an outage situation. To properly determine the correct generator for your needs, we recommend working with your local certified installer or local certified electrician, as they will be able to determine the correct size generator to meet your needs.

Per NFPA 37, the minimum distance from the generator to a combustible surface is 5 feet, and the minimum distance from a non-combustible surface is 3 feet. We recommend consulting with your local inspector as local codes may vary and will supersede manufacturers recommendations.

All of Generac's automatic standby generators will run a constant speed during operation, whether a load is applied or not. The only models that currently have idle control are part of our portable generator product line.

The 7kW, model 5837, has an average decibel rating of 67, at a distance of 23 feet while operating at full load.

The 7kW Core Power automatic standby generator is available only as a pre-packaged item with the 50 amp 8 circuit transfer switch. This generator is only designed for use with the supplied transfer switch. The necessary wiring would be supplied by the installer. If additional circuits are required other than what is available in the switch, or if a pre-wired option is preferred, we would recommend our larger Guardian series generators.

This unit can not be set up for a manual start from a remote location. This generator includes a automatic transfer switch that is hooked into your utility box so when power is lost this generator will automatically start up.

We do not currently offer the Core Power generator without a transfer switch.

The Core Power Series automatic standby units are designed as a back-up to utility power only. Utilizing the unit in place of utility – prime power – will void the unit’s warranty.
