Product Summary

This NPower charger/maintainer provides the power and functionality of a charger, but also includes a 75 Amp jumpstarter that brings batteries back to life. The automatic charger/maintainer keeps 12V batteries charged while maintaining top performance. Can easily be set at 4, 12 or 25 Amp charge rate, or the user can simply choose automatic setting. Includes a 2 Amp battery maintainer option that maintains charge in stored batteries without having to disconnect battery. Simply plug in provided maintainer cables into charging port.

  1. is this item, portable, or do i need an outlet to use the jumpstart

    1. this is NOT a portable jumpstart unit. It plugs into a 110V outlet to provide all functions.

    2. The NPower Automatic Charger/Maintainer/Jumpstarter must be plugged into a wall outlet when in use. We do sell portable, battery powered jump starters, but they cannot be used as a charger or maintainer. See links below for a few of the most popular models we sell.

  2. Does it also work with wet cell batteries?

    It states that "Works with gel and AGM batteries", but I was wondering if it is only these batteries or all batteries including wet cell, sealed flooded, AGM, and gel-cell. I have most of these various types.

    1. Yes i use it on a battery bank consisting of 4-8D 1100 amp wetcell tractor batteries

    2. Yes, the NPower Automatic Battery Charger/Maintainer/Jumpstarter will work with wet cell lead acid batteries, and flooded lead acid as well.

  3. Will this charger automatically stop charging when using MANUAL Current Selections?

    It wasn't clear in the manual whether this model will automatically stop charging when the user selects a manual charging current (i.e., 4A, 12A or 25A).

    1. Experimenting with the charger, I found that on a battery (car or garden tractor) that is nearly fully charged (80% or above) & where the NPower is applying less than 4A in Auto mode, the NPower wouldn't switch to any of the manual currents (4A, 12A or 25A). On a highly discharged car battery, I found that I could switch from Automatic to any of the manual currents. It's important to know that it DOES NOT reduce the manual current when fully charged.

  4. Can I use the "Automatic" mode on garden tractor type batteries?

    It wasn't clear in the product manual (I just purchased this model from you) whether the "Automatic" mode could be used for ALL batteries (i.e., garden tractor, generator, motorcycle batteries) or just for vehicle batteries. Can I use the Automatic mode for my 12V garden tractor battery, or should I choose the 4amp mode or use the 2amp maintainer only.

    1. I don't see why hyou could not use the AUTO charger mode on all batteries regarless of size. The purpose of the auto mode is to not overcharge the battery. By picking the 4 amp mode you are always putting in 4 amps and could overcharge and overheat the battery. The 2 amp maintainer would be used for long term or winter storage of most any size battery.

  6. will the charger tell you if you have a battery that can't be saved?

    If it can be saved, how long should it take to bring it up to capacity?

    1. If a battery is left discharged for an extended period of time, it could become sulphated, unable to accept a charge. Reconditioning Mode may help reverse the effects of sulphating and restore a batteries ability to accept a charge. If the charger detects a sulphated battery, it will automatically activate Battery Reconditioning mode, indicated by a blinking yellow LED. The digital display will show you”-“in turns. If successful, normal recharging will resume after the battery is desulphated. If the first attempt at desulphation is unsuccessful, the battery charger will make up to four more attempts. If still unsuccessful at desulphating the battery, fault code “F01” will be displayed indicating the battery will not accept a charge and should be replaced.

    We would use this 50 / 50 on lead and AGM batteries. Is this the correct charger ?

    1. No, this unit will not restore the condition of a battery, it will recharge and maintain the charge in a "good" battery.
