  1. how to install wheel well tool box

    1. The mounting instructions are as follows.
      Place the tool box in the location desired. Make sure the bottom is in full contact with the truck bed
      and that the lid will operate without interference. Find the location of the “ridges” (high points) in the
      bottom of the truck bed. You will need to know where these are located when you drill the 5/16”
      holes through the tool box and truck bed. Look under the truck bed to insure you will not be drilling into any electrical lines or fluid lines.
      Center punch the locations where the bolts will be located. Drill the 5/16” holes through the tool box
      and truck bed. Insert the ¼” bolts through the holes so they extend through the truck bed. Place the flat washer and locking nut on the bolt that protrudes from the bottom of the truck bed. Use suitable wrenches to tighten the nuts on the bolts.
      Before you tighten the screws completely, seal the holes by applying a caulk or silicone sealant. Some chest installers remove the screws and reinstall them through rubber washers. The purpose of this is to keep water from entering the box from the holes and newly installed screws

    1. The Northern Tool Wheel Well Truck Box has a top drawer that is 4 inches wide by 3 13/16 inches tall by 16 Inches long. The bottom drawer is 4 inches wide by 3 13/16 inches tall by 14 inches long.

  4. How does this secure to the bed of my truck?

    1. You would place the tool box in the desired location, making sure the bottom is in full contact with the truck bed and the lid will open without interference. You would then find the high points in the bottom of the truck bed, checking under the bed to be sure there are no electrical lines or fluid lines. You would then drill 5/16" holes and mount with the included screws.

    1. The Northern Tool Wheel Well Truck Box is a universal design. The dimensions of this box are shown in the third picture shown on our website. May we suggest measuring your truck to see if this will work for your vehicle.

  7. How do you secure the box

    Any drawer dividers available?

    1. Mounting to the truck would require drilling holes in the truck bed. Northern does not carry any dividers for the drawers.
