Northern Industrial Tools Large Cast Iron Hand Pump

Do NOT leave this pump out in freezing temperatures. Normally, water is retained in the cylinder within the top half of the pump. When it freezes, the cast iron cracks. Subsequently will will not hold a prime. I learned this the hard way. The easy way out is to remove the top half of the pump and bring it indoors for the winter. Two bolts are all that hold the top half to the bottom.

I bought a second pump just so I could replace the cracked top of the first one. (Until I did that a bicycle inner tube tightly wrapped around the fine crack in the casing worked passably well for a year.)

The Northern Industrial Hand Pump can be used this way by running the hose through the pump so that when the hose is turned on, the water would flow out the pump.

The Northern Industrial Hand Pump has a base plate of 9 3/4". There are 4 holes in the base which are 1/2" round. They are 6" apart from each other and the holes across from each other are 8 1/2" apart. The center of the holes are 1/2" from the edge of the base. Measurements are center-on-center.

This hand pump does not have a threaded outlet, and would not connect to a garden hose without modification.

The max suction depth this cast iron pump will transfer from is 19-1/2 feet. It won't have the suction power(even with additional piping) to draw water up the additional 20 feet needed for your application.

This hand pump will produce a water flow of 22 ounces(.65 liter) every two strokes.

This cast iron hand pump will draw up to 19 feet deep. Since your water table is 12 feet, you could still use this pump as water will enter the pipe when inserted into the ground. The water that exits the pump at first will be the water from the top of the water table so you'll want to refrain from using that water. After a few pumps the water drawn will be higher quality.

This Northern Industrial water pump draws water from a well, with your purchase you receive the mounting base and everything seen above seen in the picture.

The pump provides suction to draw water from up to 19.5 feet underground and has a built in check valve.

You would need to provide a concrete pad to mount the pump to and provide all the plumbing below the base into the well.
