  2. what is thread size on bottom of pump? can you extend the pickup tube lenght ? will this pump work with a 250 gal. plastic tote?

    2. The threads on the bottom of the pump is 1" in diameter, this unit does come with a 2" bung adapter as well. The maximum length the oil pump can be extended is 38-3/4" and the extension pieces come with this unit. As long as the height from the top of the tank to the bottom is not less then 39-1/2" and takes either a 1" bung or 2" bung this unit can be used with a 250 gallon plastic tote.

    1. This pump does not come with a wall mount or a suction hose. A suction hose for it can be ordered through our Parts department. Please call our Parts department at 1-800-657-0516 for price and availability. A wall mount bracket is not available for it.

  4. does this unit pump the oil from a barrel or does it pressurize the barrel and pusses the oil to a container

    1. This oil pump's piston is driven by the compressed air from your air compressor. The air from your compressor doesn't pressurize the tank or barrel your pump is drawing from.

  5. Will this pump work with a 5 gallon bucket of gear lube?

    want a faster pump for refilling large gearboxes, we use 5 gallon buckets of 80W90 gear lube. will this pump go in the buckets spout and still pump the oil out?

    1. The Northern Industrial Air-Operated Oil Pump is compatible with 5 gallon buckets of oil. It comes with an extension kit for larger applications as well.

    1. The Northern Industrial Oil Pump can only be used with oils. This can not be used with a water based solvent.

  8. Will this pump only work on upright oil drums?

    I have stacked bulk oil tanks and would like to run a suction hose from the bottom of my bulk tank to the pump so I can dispense oil across the room.

    1. This pump kit can only work in a vertical position. It cannot be used in a horizontal position.

  10. Does this pump work for coolant/antifreeze

    I have heard you need a differen oring set for pumps to pump antifreeze. This pump seems like its very all purpose, so can this pump be used for antifreeze/coolant.

    1. The pump is not recommended to be used for anything other than oil with a maximum viscosity of SAE 120.
