Product Summary

Just squeeze the handles and the compound leverage allows you to punch clean, accurate holes in sheet metal up to 14 gauge. Seven different size punches and dies (3/32in., 1/8in. 5/32in., 3/16in., 7/32in., 1/4in. and 9/32in.) are made of high-carbon, hardened steel HRC50-52. Heavy-duty tool is made of drop-forged, heat treated steel. Tool handle is 8 1/2in. long with 2in. throat. Make a perfect round hole wherever you want it...no more hit-and-miss drilling.

  2. Is this tool able to punch through a mason jar lid?

    1. Yes I have punched at least 14,000 holes in .030 polished aluminum. still working fine.

  3. Will this work with Leather belts?

    1. Yes, this would work with leather. The punch has two bits that you change out for the different hole sizes; one on the bottom is the inner diameter of the hole you're punching, and the top-side is essentially a piston that gets forced down through the material. If it still tries to come out a little messy, the answer might be to go up one size for your holes.

  4. Will this cut easily on 16 gauge galvanized steel

    1. Yes, I use 16ga nikel plated discs as tags for the jewelry I make, and this makes nice clean holes, no matter what size bit I'm using.

    2. The Northern Industrial Hole Puncher will handle sheet metal, including galvanized, up to 14 gauge. It will work well on 16 gauge galvanized.

    1. Yes, as long as it's not any sort of brittle plastic that's prone to splitting, this should pop out a nice clean hole for your badges.

    1. This hole puncher has an opening that accepts material 1/4" thick.

    I need to punch hole in 1095 spring steel up to .030 thick.

    1. Most likely this will work with .030 spring steel. While it is not tested with spring steel specifically, it can handle up to .0747(14 gauge) standard steel.

  8. Will this hole puncher punch through 30 mesh stainless steel?

    1. Yes, the Northern Industrial Hole Puncher will go through 30 mesh stainless steel. Additional dies are not available, only the 7 sizes included(3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4" and 9/32").
