  1. Do you need a filter for this particular hose

    My understanding is that for this model hose you do not need a filter. Is that correct

  2. Can two hoses be screwed together to make a 20 ft extension?

  3. Reason for filter

    I understand this hose does not require a filter, but I wonder if the other hose that does use a filter would prolong the life of the heater. I like the idea of no filter to worry about, but is a hose with a filter better in the long term? Thanks for any advice

    1. I have used this hose for 3 seasons and not had any problems with my heater. I do not think putting a filter on the line would hurt, if want to pay the extra money.

    2. The 5 and 12 foot hoses will have oil residue from the hose material that will coat the heating element and shorten the life of the heater. The filter is required as a preventative measure. The 10 foot does not leach oil and will eliminate the need for a filter.

  4. No Regulator needed?

    Let me be sure I understand, I can connect this hose from a 20lb tank directly to the heater with no regulator?

    1. you do not need a regulator and it attached directly to a 20 lb propane cylinder. However, you need to turn the tank valve on very slowly or the heater will not light.

    2. The Mr Heater hose assembly could be connected directly to the Mr Heater Buddy series heaters without using a regulator because the Buddy series heaters have an internal regulator. One exception would be when using the quick connection portal on the heaters which bypasses the internal regulator on the heaters, but seeing as this hose assembly has direct screw connections that would not be applicable.

  5. Do I need a regulator with the F273704?

    I know I dont need a filter because this is plastic and not rubber.

  6. How does this hose couple with the regulator attached to the re-fillable tank? 1/4 inch female to male?

    1. The hose fitting is a 1"-20 thread per inch male through away cylinder thread.
