Yes all tools and all batteries work together in the M18 line. I like the convenience of this. Once you own the batteries and chargers you can add to your line of cordless tools by buying tool only. I used my saw with the High Output CP 3.0 amph battery but I also own the M18 Rded Lithium XC 5.0 amph battery that I use as well,
